Predicting family resilience on the stability of married life

Background and Aim: Resilience is one of the factors that can improve the psychological functions of the family in the form of thinking, mood and behavior, and consequently increase the stability of married life. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to predict family resilience on the stability of marital life. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of family resilience on the stability of marital life. Methods: The research method is descriptive and correlational. The statistical population included married couples in Tehran. The sample of this study included 379 clients of cultural centers and houses in Tehran who were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method and answered the research questionnaires such as Edwards, Johnson and Booth Marriage Instability Index (1980) and Sikbi Family Resilience Scale (2005). The research data were analyzed using SPSS-24 statistical software and stepwise regression method. Results: Findings showed that the effect of family resilience on the stability of marital life with a value of F = 18.69 at the level of P <0.01 is significant. The multiple correlation coefficient of this model is equal to 0.36 and the coefficient of determining the predictability of marital stability based on family resilience is equal to 0.13 (P≤0.05). Conclusion: Therefore, it can be said that a stable married life is affected by the ability to withstand.
